I met Margaret Atwood!

Hi all, Ingrid here - guess what, last weekend I met Margaret Atwood!!

I bought a copy of The Edible Woman and she signed it for me. The other books of hers I've read are The Handmaid's Tale, The Blind Assassin, and Surfacing. For a long time I told everyone she was my favorite author, but it's been so long since I've read her that she has, unfortunately, been slipping from my radar. I can't wait to start on The Edible Woman. I also own Alias Grace and Cat's Eye, which I'm also looking forward to.

What is your favorite book by Margaret Atwood? Do you adore her as much as I do?

Oh! Lucky you! My Atwood Favourites: The Blind Assassin, Alias Grace, The Robber Bride, and I liked the Handmaid's Tale too!
That's so cool! I've listened to her give a talk, live and in person, but I didn't get the chance to meet her. Like so many others, I loved The Handmaid's Tale, but I also really liked her book that was set on the island of Bequia, whose name eludes me at the moment...
This is so awesome! Did you get to talk to her at all? I'm impressed you got a photo!
I've read Cat's Eye, Handmaid's Tale, and The Blind Assassin, and I loved them all but I haven't read anything by her in the last 4 years or so. I have The Robber Bride and The Penelopiad waiting on my shelf.

Ha ... well, I was planning on asking her a question .. but I got nervous and froze so I didn't end up asking her anything. Derik made fun of me for it, haha. I just got so shy!
I know the feeling exactly! Same thing happened with me and Jeffrey Eugenides.
I met her over a year ago and had all these questions I wanted to ask. Upon getting face-to-face I became an awkward stuttering mess and my husband had to save me. Lol! The Edible Woman is great. I actually just reviewed The Robber Bride, which I also recommend.
I can't believe you got to meet her! Jealous.
That is too cool!! I totally understand you for forgetting your questions though - the same thing would have happened to me I bet! My favourite book of hers is The Handmaid's Tale. I love that book.
Oh, I'm jealous! I just finished my fourth Atwood novel, Alias Grace and I think it might be my favorite yet.
That looks suspiciously like the BYU Bookstore. If it is I am DYING because I live so close and had no idea she was there! Lucky you!
OMG - I would LOVE to meet her - lucky you!!!
I'm so jealous. Handmaid's Tale is my first and favourite. I also own Alias Grace and would like to get to it soon.
Yay! Jealous! My favorite Atwoods so far are Cat's Eye and Alias Grace...two you still luckily have to look forward to!
Oh, oh, that's amazing! I'm looking forward to reading her The Handmaid's Tale.
wonderful what an amazing writer to meet ,all the best stu
Oh my God, you are so lucky!! Margaret Atwood is an author to look up to. My favourite book is Alias Grace, I loved how complex the characers are and how historical facts can be revisited and rewritten!
